Association Between Symptomatic Knee Osteoarthritis and Target Glycemic Control in Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Knee osteoarthritis (OA) commonly affects individuals with Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and is associated with increased risk of diabetes‐related complications. To better understand potential mechanisms, we examined the association between symptomatic knee OA and glycemic control in individuals with T2DM.

Elbow and knee joint for hard space suits [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
An elbow or knee joint for a hard space suit or similar usage is formed of three serially connected rigid sections which have truncated spherical configurations. The ends of each section form solid geometric angles, and the sections are interconnected by

Biomaterial Strategies for Targeted Intracellular Delivery to Phagocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phagocytes are essential to a functional immune system, and their behavior defines disease outcomes. Engineered particles offer a strategic opportunity to target phagocytes, harnessing inflammatory modulation in disease. By tuning features like size, shape, and surface, these systems can modulate immune responses and improve targeted treatment for a ...

Mechanically Tunable Bone Scaffolds: In Vivo Hardening of 3D‐Printed Calcium Phosphate/Polycaprolactone Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

Arthroscopy of the Knee Joint [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1973
Review of the results of arthroscopy of the knee joint in a consecutive series of 112 patients showed that in 81 knees the preoperative diagnosis was confirmed, and in 24 it was found to be incorrect. In seven knees the procedure yielded no further information owing to poor visualization within the joint.
