Newly developed hardness testing system, “Cariotester”: Measurement principles and development of a program for measuring Knoop hardness of carious dentin

open access: bronzeDental Materials Journal, 2013
We previously discovered that when a cone-shaped indenter coated with paint was pressed into an object, the paint disappeared in accordance with the depth of the indentation. Based on this fact, we developed the Cariotester, a portable system for measuring the Knoop hardness (KHN) of carious dentin.

Chemo-mechanical characterization of carious dentine using Raman microscopy and Knoop microhardness [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2020
One of the aims in the clinical operative management of dental carious lesions is to remove selectively the highly infected and structurally denatured dentine tissue, while retaining the deeper, repairable affected and intact, healthy tissues for long ...

Effect of CPP-ACP on remineralization of artificial caries-like lesion: an in situ study [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Oral Research, 2020
The purpose of this double-blind, randomized, crossover in situ study is to compare remineralization of preformed enamel lesions by casein phosphopeptide-stabilized amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) and fluoride dentifrice products.

Physicochemical characterization of two bulk fill composites at different depths [PDF]

open access: yesRestorative Dentistry & Endodontics, 2021
ObjectivesThis study analyzed the physical-chemical behavior of 2 bulk fill resin composites (BFCs; Filtek Bulk Fill [FBF], and Tetric-N-Ceram Bulk Fill [TBF]) used in 2- and 4-mm increments and compared them with a conventional resin composite (Filtek ...

Atenolol increases dental mineralization in male offspring of treated hypertensive rats and normotensive rats [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Oral Research, 2020
This study evaluates how atenolol affects dental mineralization in offspring of female spontaneously hypertensive rats (fSHR) and normotensive Wistar rats (fW). fSHR and fW were treated with atenolol (100 mg/Kg/day, orally) during pregnancy and lactation.
