Hijacking the Host Clock: A Nematode Effector Antagonizes Soybean Circadian Defense and Translation Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.

Convex embeddability and knot theory

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society
We consider countable linear orders and study the quasi-order of convex embeddability and its induced equivalence relation. We obtain both combinatorial and descriptive set-theoretic results, and further extend our research to the case of circular orders.

Algorithmic simplification of knot diagrams: new moves and experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper has an experimental nature and contains no new theorems. We introduce certain moves for classical knot diagrams that for all examples we have tested them on give a monotonic complete simplification.

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Algebraic structures of Vassiliev invariants for knot families

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
We explore algebraic relations on Vassiliev knot invariants related with correlators in the 3-dimensional Chern–Simons theory. Vassiliev invariants form infinite-dimensional algebra.

Constructing Seamless Interfaces for Ultrastable Flexible Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Seamless electrode/electrolyte and electrolyte/electrolyte interfaces with boosted interfacial toughness and adhesion are constructed by anchored interfacial polymerization and in situ polymerization, respectively. The achieved supercapacitor exhibits ultrahigh capacitance retention over 100,000 times of charge/discharge or folding deformation ...

Metal‐Free Active Template: A Straightforward Route to 4‐Aminopyridinium‐Based Rotaxane Molecular Shuttles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Leigh's metal‐free active template‐based SNAr of an amine on halogenopyridiniums, in the presence of a crown ether, successfully afforded 4‐aminopyridinium‐containing rotaxanes. Further molecular machinery was carried out by deprotonation‐then‐carbamoylation of the conjugated amino moiety.

Knot lattice homology in L-spaces

open access: yes, 2015
We show that the knot lattice homology of a knot in an L-space is chain homotopy equivalent to the knot Floer homology of the same knot (viewed these invariants as filtered chain complexes over the polynomial ring Z/2Z[U]).

Synergistic Dual Slip‐Link Toughening of a Water‐Rich Double Network Hydrogel Combining Slide‐Ring and Highly Entangled Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two distinct slip‐link mechanisms – the slide‐ring pulley effect and highly entangled chains – are combined in a water‐rich double network hydrogel, achieving synergistic toughening, near‐complete reversibility, and exceptional friction tear resistance at >$>$91 wt.% water.

Introducción a los Invariantes de Nudos

open access: yesTecnoLógicas, 2010
Since its inception, due to the work of Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss and Lord Kelvin, knot theory has had a major problem, that is given is to determine when two diagrams of knots, these correspond to the same knot, Peter Tait tried to resolve the ...
