A Smart Fuzzy Risk Assessment System for Epidemic Prevention on Cruise Ships
Cruise ships are a popular vacation choice, but their usually crowded conditions and enclosed spaces make them vulnerable to outbreaks of airborne infectious diseases. Risk assessment (RA) of epidemic outbreaks on cruise ships has traditionally relied on

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

An integrated two-stage methodology for optimising the accuracy of performance classification models
In this paper we propose a two-stage methodology to classify the non-banking financial institutions (NFIs) based on their financial performance. The first stage of the methodology consists of grouping the companies in similar financial performance ...

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Knowledge-Based Planning for Human-Robot Collaborative Tasks
Human-robot collaboration is a promising alternative to full automation and manual labour. Collaborative robots are considered safe and individual robot actions can often be easily programmed, for example, by physical hand-guiding.

A Diabetes Management Information System with Glucose Prediction
Diabetes has become a serious health concern. The use and popularization of blood glucose measurement devices have led to a tremendous increase on health for diabetics. Tracking and maintaining traceability between glucose measurements, insulin doses and

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...
