Stochastic variation in the FOXM1 transcription program mediates replication stress tolerance
Cellular heterogeneity is a major cause of drug resistance in cancer. Segeren et al. used single‐cell transcriptomics to investigate gene expression events that correlate with sensitivity to the DNA‐damaging drugs gemcitabine and prexasertib. They show that dampened expression of transcription factor FOXM1 and its target genes protected cells against ...

Uniqueness of radiomic features in non‐small cell lung cancer
Abstract Purpose The uniqueness of radiomic features, combined with their reproducibility, determines the reliability of radiomic studies. This study is to test the hypothesis that radiomic features extracted from a defined region of interest (ROI) are unique to the underlying structure (e.g., tumor). Approach Two cohorts of non‐small cell lung cancer (

Subjective Knowledge Acquisition and Enrichment Powered By Crowdsourcing [PDF]
Knowledge bases (KBs) have attracted increasing attention due to its great success in various areas, such as Web and mobile search.Existing KBs are restricted to objective factual knowledge, such as city population or fruit shape, whereas, subjective knowledge, such as big city, which is commonly mentioned in Web and mobile queries, has been neglected ...

On Knowledge Excavation Based on University Library Knowledge Base
Knowledge excavation is a new information processing technology. Nowadays, knowledge excavation has been widely applied to the university library management. Knowledge excavation in university library knowledge bases has already been playing an important role in improving the management of university libraries and inevitably will play a more profound ...

The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

A small footprint couch‐top support device for image‐guided radiotherapy of heavy patients
Abstract Purpose Patients with body weights close to or above 400 lbs present unique challenges in radiation therapy since the weight limit of most treatment couches decreases as the couch‐top extends toward the treatment gantry. The purpose of this work was to develop a small footprint couch‐top support platform to safely perform image‐guided ...

Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...
