Performance analysis of a message-oriented knowledge-base [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
First-order Horn logic is a useful formalism to design knowledge-based systems. When implemented on a sequential von Neumann computer, the main limitation of such systems is performance.

RAD50 missense variants differentially affect the DNA damage response and mitotic progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
RAD50 incorporates into the MRN complex and initiates the DNA damage response. Furthermore, RAD50 promotes mitotic progression. RAD50 missense variants capable of forming an MRN complex supported the DNA damage response and mitotic features to different extents in complementation experiments, indicating these functions are separable and might impact ...

Development of science and technology in a knowledge-based organization from the intellectual capital’s perspective [PDF]

open access: yesمطالعات مدیریت راهبردی, 2020
The foundation of an organization and its transformation into a knowledge organization depend deeply on its various aspects, so that if it is not provided with its basic infrastructure and infrastructure, any attempt at it will fail.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

Knowledge Acquisition for Diagnosis of Skin Diseases as an Initial Platform for an Expert System

open access: yesJournal of Health Management & Informatics, 2018
Background: The diagnosis of skin diseases, especially in patients suffering from more than one disease or having similar symptoms, is very complex and access to the knowledge of skin diseases makes the design of an expert system easier.

Multi‐omic characterization of consensus molecular subtype 1 (CMS1) colorectal cancer with dampened immune response improves precision medicine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.
