Non‐Additive Criteria Assessment in Sustainability Evaluation of High Entropy Alloys: A Toxicity‐Weighted Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sustainability assessment requires methodologies that appropriately distinguish between additive and non‐additive material properties. A toxicity‐weighted scoring system is developed and applied that accounts for the disproportionate influence of highly toxic constituents through nonlinear weighting functions, providing more realistic estimates than ...

A Novel Approach to Estimate the Transition Temperature via Dynamic Nanoindentation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A new dynamic nanoindentation‐based method was developed that uses the stiffness ratio as an indicator of the elastic–plastic deformation contributions at different temperatures. The approach successfully identified transition temperatures in ferritic steel and distinguished them from continuously ductile austenitic steel.

FastNano Liquid: An Automated Platform for Small‐Angle X‐ray Scattering‐Based Materials Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present FastNano Liquid, an automated small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering platform for the combined synthesis and characterization of (nano)materials. The platform is coupled to varied reactor workflows for both in situ studies of reaction kinetics and ex situ screening of synthesis conditions to support machine learning‐guided exploration ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

Knowledge Creation in Export Trading

open access: yesJournal of Information & Knowledge Management, 2004
In this research, we investigate how knowledge in the export trading industry is created. Prior research focuses on general businesses in local market environment. This research specifically focuses on export trading with overseas market needs. These needs require attention to different types of control and requirements beyond that of a local market ...

Facilitating knowledge creation by knowledge assets

37th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2004. Proceedings of the, 2004
A comprehensive and feasible model that delineates the interrelationships between knowledge assets and knowledge creation processes is absent. This study aims to fill this void. Unlike previous research, this study investigates the interrelations among four categories of knowledge assets and four knowledge creation processes - socialization ...

Knowledge Creation And Flows In Science

2005
This paper is concerned with creation and diffusion of knowledge within the scientific community. We invoke the distinction between open and closed science to focus attention solely on those agents for whom knowledge is an end in itself. Our concern here is the flow of knowledge within a discipline, such as economics for example, in which the ...

Technology and Knowledge Creation

2015 IEEE 15th International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies, 2015
Living in the knowledge age, we acknowledge that new ideas and innovative products are the new sources of economic growth. Technologies play a critical role in knowledge-based economy in several ways For example, internet is one of the main conduits for learning new skills and information that are necessary in a knowledge-based economy.
