Kinetically Limited Growth of Dendritic Tin Oxide Thin Films: a Machine Learning Study beyond the Structure Zone Diagram

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a critical evaluation of the empirical Thornton's structure zone diagram, a cornerstone in predicting thin film microstructure. Through transmission electron microscopy, we observe that Sn─O thin films form nanosized dendrites, which are not expected according to the structure zone diagram.

Bio‐Inspired Structural Color Irises as Physical Unclonable Functions for Anti‐Counterfeiting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work employs colloidal photonic crystals to create macro‐to‐micro scale PUF anti‐counterfeiting patterns. Integrated with iris recognition algorithms, it establishes a multi‐layered optical anti‐counterfeiting system based on structural color irises.

Q‐GEM: Quantum Chemistry Knowledge Fusion Geometry‐Enhanced Molecular Representation for Property Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces E‐GeoGNN, a graph neural network framework that systematically encodes molecular structural information through three hierarchical correlation graphs: atom‐bond graph, bond‐angle graph, and angle‐dihedral graph. By incorporating quantum and geometric dual‐scale self‐supervised pretraining, Q‐GEM is proposed, a novel molecular ...

A Generative AI‐Assisted Piezo‐MEMS Ultrasound Device for Plant Dehydration Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS)‐compatible wearable piezoelectric micromachined ultrasound transducers (PMUTs) that sandwiches the leaf (PMUT–Leaf–PMUT, PLP) and employs generative artificial intelligence for real‐time analysis.

Large‐Scale Bioprinting of Human Epiblast‐Like Models Featuring Disc‐Shaped Morphogenesis and Gastrulation Events

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Large‐scale generation of disc‐shaped models mimicking human epiblast layer is achieved by bioprinting of human pluripotent stem cells using a well‐defined biomatrix. The bioactive component and physical confinement from laminin/alginate microgels, combined with the endogenous regulation of the WNT signaling pathway regulated disc‐like morphogenesis ...
