Granulation operators on a knowledge base

2008 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing, 2008
Knowledge in knowledge bases have two categories: complete and incomplete. In this paper, through uniformly expressing these two kinds of knowledge, we first address four operators on a knowledge base, which are adequate for generating new knowledge through using known knowledge.

Knowledge Operations in Neighborhood System

2010 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing, 2010
It has been known that neighborhood system is the first granular computing model. From the view point of knowledge engineering, each neighborhood is considered as a unit of basic knowledge. In this paper, we mainly focus on knowledge operations in neighborhood system. The knowledge operations are defined on the neighborhood system of the object and the

Knowledge Systems for Coalition Operations

IEEE Intelligent Systems, 2013
Most major military, peacekeeping, and humanitarian operations are now coalition-based and require agility and effective use of limited resources to achieve complex and multiple objectives. This raises many challenges given technical incompatibilities, rules and regulations, as well as cultural norms.

Organising Knowledge Refinement Operators

1999
Knowledge refinement tools seek to correct faulty knowledge based systems (KBSs). The goal of the KrustWorks project is to provide a source of refinement components from which specialised refinement tools tailored to the needs of a range of KBSs can be built.

Representing Operational Knowledge by Contextual Graphs

2000
In various industrial fields, the operators use pre-designed procedures either to solve problems or for troubleshooting. In the Parisian subway, such procedures exist since 1900. However, these procedures are not always exactly suited to the case at hand, and the operators generally prefer to customize a solution than to rely on fixed procedures. A new
