Structured Prior Knowledge and Granular Structures
2009In this paper, a hierarchical organization of prior knowledge based on multidimensional data model is firstly proposed, it is the basis of structured thinking. Secondly, a representation of granular structures based on multidimensional data model is also proposed, it can represents information from multiview and multilevel.

Algebras as Knowledge Structures
2005We start investigating set algebras from a knowledge theoretical point of view. To this end, we suit hybrid logic to the context of knowledge. The common modal approach is extended in this way, which gives us the necessary expressive power. The main issues of the paper are a completeness and a decidability result for the arising logic of knowledge on ...

Les architectures médiévales du savoir conçues dans le monde islamique, constituent un cas particulier : elles reflètent parfaitement la compétition entre les différentes traditions et approches intellectuelles. Scientific Knowledge and Structural Knowledge
2011There is a very general question in the philosophy of science. It is this: how do we think our theories represent the world? What is theoretical knowledge in the sciences, knowledge of? One very influential answer to this question is the thesis of Structuralism: theoretical knowledge is not knowledge of unobservable objects and the hidden relations ...

This paper investigates how technological distance between firms affects their network of R&D alliances. Our theoretic model assumes that the benefit of an alliance between two firms is given by their technological distance. This benefit-distance relationship determines the ego-network of each firm as well as the overall network structure.

This article presents a formalization of knowledge based on a connectionist model of a firm's structure. Transaction costs are not ignored, but integrated with the knowledge-based approach. A numerical example on the canonical comparison of "Japanese" versus "American" organizational structures illustrates the power of the model.
