Security analysis of an encryption scheme based on nonpositional polynomial notations

open access: yesOpen Engineering, 2016
The aim of the research was to conduct a cryptographic analysis of an encryption scheme developed on the basis of nonpositional polynomial notations to estimate the algorithm strength. Nonpositional polynomial notations (NPNs) are residue number systems (

An Efficient Known Plaintext Attack on FEA-M

open access: yes, 2003
Yi et al. have proposed a cipher called the fast encryption algorithm for multimedia (FEA-M). Recently Mihaljevic and Kohno pointed out that FEA-M is insecure. However, their attacks are not efficient: their chosen plaintext attack and known plaintext attack require 237-bit chosen plaintext and 260-bit known plaintext, respectively.

Comparison Between Algebraic Cryptanalysis on DES and NTRU

open access: yesInPrime, 2023
Algebraic cryptanalysis is a cryptanalysis method that aims to exploit the algebraic structure of an encryption algorithm to obtain the secret key. Algebraic cryptanalysis becomes interesting because it uses a small amount of known plaintext, which in ...

On Matrix‐Based Cryptography Using Matrix Norm and Special Integer Sequences

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, a novel matrix‐based encryption approach based on the Affine Hill cipher is presented. The key matrix is constructed using the Narayana integer sequence, and the Frobenius norm of the key matrix is used as a scaling factor in the key construction.

Image Encryption Scheme with Compressed Sensing Based on a New Six-Dimensional Non-Degenerate Discrete Hyperchaotic System and Plaintext-Related Scrambling

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
Digital images can be large in size and contain sensitive information that needs protection. Compression using compressed sensing performs well, but the measurement matrix directly affects the signal compression and reconstruction performance.

Linear cryptanalysis of pseudorandom functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Relatório de projeto de pesquisa. In this paper, we study linear relations propagating across block ciphers from the key input to the ciphertext (for a fixed plaintext block).

A secured cloud‐medical data sharing with A‐BRSA and Salp ‐Ant Lion Optimisation Algorithm

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Sharing medical data among healthcare providers, researchers, and patients is crucial for efficient healthcare services. Cloud‐assisted smart healthcare (s‐healthcare) systems have made it easier to store EHRs effectively. However, the traditional encryption algorithms used to secure this data can be vulnerable to attacks if the encryption key

A Known-Plaintext Attack on Two-Key Triple Encryption [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A chosen-plaintext attack on two-key triple encryption noted by Merkle and Hellman is extended to a known-plaintext attack. The known-plaintext attack has lower memory requirements than the chosen-plaintext attack, but has a greater running ...

Classifying Malicious Documents on the Basis of Plain-Text Features: Problem, Solution, and Experiences

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Cyberattacks widely occur by using malicious documents. A malicious document is an electronic document containing malicious codes along with some plain-text data that is human-readable.
