Community knowledge on factors behind extirpation of lion Panthera leo in Comoé National Park, Côte d'Ivoire (West Africa)

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 1, January 2024.

This ideally requires an understanding of the earlier process of lion extirpation.

Sharing without Caring: High Prevalence and Similarity of Potentially Zoonotic Gastrointestinal Helminths in Two Sympatric Nonhuman Primates in a Tropical Resource Reserve

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ecology, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Nonhuman primates (NHPs) are threatened globally, with infectious diseases ranking among the major threat factors. NHPs may also harbor zoonotic pathogens that may spillover to humans, making the surveillance of infectious diseases and parasite infestations in NHPs of conservation and public health important.

Robustostrongylus aferensis gen. nov. et sp. nov. (Nematoda: Trichostrongyloidea) in Kob (Kobus kob) and Hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus jacksoni) (Artiodactyla) from Sub-saharan Africa, with Further Ruminations on the Ostertagiinae

open access: yesJournal of Parasitology, 2009
Abomasal nematodes (Ostertagiinae: Trichostrongyloidea), representing a previously unrecognized genus and species, were discovered in kob (Kobus kob) and kongoni (hartebeest) (Alcelaphus buselaphus jacksoni) from Uganda during surveys of ungulate parasites in the 1960s.
