Environmental DNA Reveals Diverse and Depth‐Stratified Biodiversity in East Indian Ocean Submarine Canyons

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Environmental DNA metabarcoding reveals diverse animal communities across Cape Range and Cloates submarine canyons off Western Australia. Two assays detected 234 species spanning 125 families across 11 phyla, highlighting canyon‐specific assemblages and demonstrating the value of eDNA for establishing biodiversity baselines in remote and poorly ...

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2002
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used to study different topo-morphological characteristics of the architecture (cuticle, excretory pore, lips and adjacent structures, number and distribution patterns of caudal papillae and papillae-like structures)

Seeing Through the “Clouds” With Molecular “Eyes”. First eDNA‐Based Detections of Pygmy Sperm Whale (Kogia breviceps) in the Mediterranean Sea

open access: yesMammal Review, Volume 56, Issue 1, March 2026.
For the first time, environmental DNA (eDNA) from the Mediterranean Sea reveals the cryptic presence of the pygmy sperm whale (Kogia breviceps). Analysis of 393 samples detected repeated, spatiotemporally structured molecular signals, suggesting a resident population.

Pigmy Sperm Whale (Kogia breviceps) in Borneo [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1958
IN recent years the Sarawak Museum has developed a system by which people along the west coast of Borneo report (if they have time) the occurrence of any beached cetacean. Partly by this means, and with the help of Malays and Dayaks, we have extended the local list from five to fourteen known forms in the past five years, advised and criticized by Dr ...

Respiratory Oscillometry and Multimodal Lung Function Assessment of Elexacaftor/Tezacaftor/Ivacaftor Response in Children and Young Adults With Cystic Fibrosis

open access: yesPediatric Pulmonology, Volume 61, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background To date, there is no data on forced oscillation technique (FOT) as a tool to evaluate elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) modulator in young patients with cystic fibrosis (pwCF). Objective Our study aimed to assess the effect of a 6‐month ETI treatment on FOT parameters and compare it to the effect on spirometry and nitrogen ...
