Ionization energy of KOH and the dissociation energies of KOH and KOH+
Molecular Physics, 2003High level ab initio, up to RCCSD(T), and B3LYP calculations were employed to calculate thermochemical properties for KOH and KOH+. Basis sets were of both all-electron and effective core potential (ECP) types: in both cases large, flexible valence basis sets were used, and the largest basis sets were of quintuple-zeta quality.

The potassium hydroxide (KOH) procedure is an integral diagnostic procedure, commonly used in daily dermatology practice but with vague origins. Given the many eponyms that exist in dermatology—both for the discovery of a disease and for the pioneering of a technique—it is surprising that no historical consensus exists on the inception of this ...

Reactions of triads Se8KOHDMSO, Se8KOHDMSO, TeKOHHMPA with acetylenes
Tetrahedron, 1982Abstract A new general approach to anionic transformations of acetylenes using superbasic media has been developed. It allows series of new reactions which are not undergone by acetylene under conventional conditions. The triads Se 8 KOHdimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), Se 8 KOHDMSO, TeKOH-hexamethyl-phosphorictriamide (HMPA) are proposed as new ...

Relative Cariostatic Effects of KOH-soluble and KOH-insoluble Fluoride in situ
Journal of Dental Research, 1990The relative cariostatic effects of fluoride as fluorapatite, CaF2, loosely-bound fluoride, or KOH-soluble fluoride are debated. The present study was carried out to investigate this further in an intra-oral caries model. Pairs of premolars extracted for orthodontic reasons were used. Enamel from one tooth of each pair was used as control (untreated).

Psychoactive mushroom use in Koh Samui and Koh Pha-Ngan, Thailand
Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 1992This paper presents the results of recent ethnomycological exploration in southern Thailand. Field observations, interviews and collection of fungi specimens were carried out primarily on two islands, Koh Samui and Koh Pha-ngan, situated in the western region of the Gulf of Siam. Some fieldwork was also conducted in the northern Thai province of Chiang

The considerable compounds content, abundance, and low costs involved has led to the proposal to use sewage sludge as raw material for biodiesel production. The transesterification reaction is catalyzed using an acid catalyst instead of base catalysts because of the high free fatty acid concentration. However, the use of a base catalyst, particularly a

Nanospace engineering of KOH activated carbon
Nanotechnology, 2011This paper demonstrates that nanospace engineering of KOH activated carbon is possible by controlling the degree of carbon consumption and metallic potassium intercalation into the carbon lattice during the activation process. High specific surface areas, porosities, sub-nanometer (
