Long-term results of hybrid repair techniques for Kommerell's diverticulum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate early and late results of hybrid repair techniques for Kommerell's diverticulum (KD). Methods: All patients who underwent hybrid repair (thoracic endovascular aortic repair + supra-aortic debranching) for ...

Syncope as Initial Presentation of Kommerell Diverticulum [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Angiology, 2012
Kommerell diverticulum (KD) is an aortic arch diverticulum at the origin of an aberrant subclavian artery. It is a rare anatomical anomaly that can be associated with a double aortic arc, a left aortic arch, and anomalous origin of the right subclavian artery or a right aortic arch with anomalous left subclavian artery.

Noninvasive assessment of autonomic modulation of heart rate variability in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome: A proof of principle study

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 8, Issue 12, June 2020., 2020
We used a new, noninvasive technique to assess cardiac autonomic modulation in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome under the effect of adrenergic and cholinergic agonists. This new ECG recording apparatus has the potential to be very useful to investigators studying heart rate and heart rate variability in rodent models of human disorders. However,

Rare case of vascular ring with Kommerell diverticulum mimicking uncontrolled asthma

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, April 2020., 2020
We report a rare case of vascular ring with Kommerell diverticulum leading to a misdiagnosis of asthma in a 39‐year‐old woman. Anomalies of the aortic arch associated with Kommerell diverticulum (KD) are rare congenital malformations. Symptomatic thoracic vascular rings presenting in adults are rare.

Aberrant Left Subclavian Artery-Esophageal Fistula in a Patient with a Prolonged Use of Nasogastric Tube: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Arterial-esophageal fistula is a rare but potentially fatal complication. Right aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian artery is a rare congenital vascular anomaly that can cause esophageal compression, particularly when the proximal portion of the ...

Right Aortic Arch and Kommerell’s Diverticulum Repaired without Reconstruction of Aberrant Left Subclavian Artery

open access: yesCase Reports in Vascular Medicine, 2013
Right aortic arch with Kommerell’s diverticulum is a very rare situation. Surgical treatment is recommended for symptomatic patients or asymptomatic patients with a large diverticulum.

Right aortic arch analysis – Anatomical variant or serious vascular defect?

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2017
Background The right-sided aortic arch (RAA) is a rare congenital defect of the aorta. The aim of the study was to assess the occurrence of RAA in diagnoses performed by the University Radiology Department and analyze the frequency of concomitant ...

Endovascular repair of a Kommerell's diverticulum in a patient with a left-sided aortic arch and right-sided descending thoracic aorta

open access: yes, 2009
Thoracic aortic anomalies are rare and may be associated with pathologic vascular conditions necessitating intervention. We present a case of a patient with a left aortic arch, right descending thoracic aorta, and a Kommerell's diverticulum giving rise ...
