First case of four spontaneously conceived successful pregnancies after fertility‐sparing surgery for cervical cancer

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 9, Issue 9, September 2021., 2021
Cervical cancer represents a particular burden when affecting women in their fertile years. Fertility‐sparing surgery such as trachelectomy can maintain a woman`s childbearing ability. Favorable outcomes are possible, as depicted in this case. Abstract Cervical cancer represents a particular burden when affecting women in their fertile years. Fertility‐

Pediatric flexible bronchoscopy: A single‐center report

open access: yesPediatric Pulmonology, Volume 56, Issue 8, Page 2634-2641, August 2021., 2021
Abstract Introduction Pediatric flexible laryngotracheal bronchoscopy (FB) is an integral part of diagnostics and treatment at tertiary pediatric respiratory centers. Aim FBs performed between 2013 and 2018 at our Pediatric Allergy and Respiratory Medicine Unit of the Department of Women's and Children's Health at Padua University were examined in ...

Persistent right aortic arch and absent left subclavian artery in a seven‐week‐old English Springer Spaniel

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2021., 2021
Abstract A seven‐week‐old English Springer Spaniel presented with recurrent vomiting that began with the introduction of solid food. No musculoskeletal issues such as lameness were identified. On radiography, focal dilation of the oesophagus cranial to the heart base was identified. CT angiography confirmed the suspected persistent right aortic arch. A

Hybrid single-stage repair of kommerell’s diverticulum in a right aortic arch in a patient with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome

open access: yes, 2022
Hybrid single-stage repair of Kommerell’s diverticulum in a right aortic arch. Aortic arch anomalies, isolated or associated with congenital heart defects, are cardiovascular manifestations frequently associated with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome.

Fenestrated Physician-Modified Endovascular Grafts for Aberrant Right Subclavian Artery and/or Kommerell’s diverticulum

open access: yes, 2023
International audienceObjective: The aim of this case series is to report feasibility, efficiency, and safety of fenestrated physician-modified endografts (PMEGs) in aortic arch pathologies with aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA) and/or Kommerell’s ...

Surgical repair for aortic dissection accompanying a right-sided aortic arch

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2010
Aortic anomaly in which a right-sided aortic arch associated with Kommerell's diverticulum and aberrant left subclavian artery is rare. The present report describes a patient with type-B aortic dissection accompanying aortic anomalies consisting of right-

Emergent hybrid surgical approaches for non-dissecting ruptured Kommerell's aneurysm: a case report series

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2023
Background Kommerell’s aneurysm is a saccular or fusiform dilatation found in 3–8% of Kommerell’s diverticulum cases. A non-dissecting rupture rate of 6% has been reported. If ruptured, emergent surgical correction is usually granted.

Coil occlusion of a congenital left ventricular aneurysm in a newborn

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 389-392, August 2020., 2020
Abstract We report interventional treatment of a congenital left ventricular aneurysm in a neonate. The aneurysm was detected prenatally at 20 weeks of gestation. Postnatally, the aneurysm increased in size during the first few days of life and therefore we opted for interventional closure to abolish the potential risk of rupture.

Noninvasive assessment of autonomic modulation of heart rate variability in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome: A proof of principle study

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 8, Issue 12, June 2020., 2020
We used a new, noninvasive technique to assess cardiac autonomic modulation in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome under the effect of adrenergic and cholinergic agonists. This new ECG recording apparatus has the potential to be very useful to investigators studying heart rate and heart rate variability in rodent models of human disorders. However,

Rare case of vascular ring with Kommerell diverticulum mimicking uncontrolled asthma

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, April 2020., 2020
We report a rare case of vascular ring with Kommerell diverticulum leading to a misdiagnosis of asthma in a 39‐year‐old woman. Anomalies of the aortic arch associated with Kommerell diverticulum (KD) are rare congenital malformations. Symptomatic thoracic vascular rings presenting in adults are rare.
