Diverticulo de Kommerell

open access: yes, 2022
A healthy, 68-year-old male, active smoker, who presented a history of long-term dyspnea associated with precordial pain, who was subsequently a screened for lung cancer with thoracic CT, finding a Kommerell diverticulum associated with a probable aortic

Left internal mammary artery access for embolization of the left subclavian artery in a patient with type II endoleak after thoracic endovascular aortic repair for a ruptured right-sided aortic arch aneurysm

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques, 2022
A 65-year-old woman had presented with a ruptured type B intramural hematoma associated with a right-sided aortic arch aneurysm, a large Kommerell diverticulum (KD) and an aberrant left subclavian artery (LSA). She underwent total aortic arch replacement

A case series of rare pathologies of the aorta and the aortic arch in adolescents and younger adults: Transfer of experience for an individualized approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
ObjectiveWhile aneurysm of the aortic root, interrupted aortic arch, and aortic coarctation are the most frequent aortic diseases in adolescents and younger adults, there are a number of rare pathologies of the thoracic aorta that need individualized ...

Double Aortic Arch With Kommerell Diverticulum [PDF]

open access: yesThe Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2019
Vascular rings with a Kommerell diverticulum (KD) most commonly occur in patients with a right aortic arch. We report on a less commonly seen subset of vascular ring patients-those with a double aortic arch and a KD.Between 2002 and 2017, 66 patients underwent an operation for a double aortic arch. Ten of those patients also had excision of a KD.

Coil occlusion of a congenital left ventricular aneurysm in a newborn

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 389-392, August 2020., 2020
Abstract We report interventional treatment of a congenital left ventricular aneurysm in a neonate. The aneurysm was detected prenatally at 20 weeks of gestation. Postnatally, the aneurysm increased in size during the first few days of life and therefore we opted for interventional closure to abolish the potential risk of rupture.

Noninvasive assessment of autonomic modulation of heart rate variability in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome: A proof of principle study

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 8, Issue 12, June 2020., 2020
We used a new, noninvasive technique to assess cardiac autonomic modulation in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome under the effect of adrenergic and cholinergic agonists. This new ECG recording apparatus has the potential to be very useful to investigators studying heart rate and heart rate variability in rodent models of human disorders. However,

Anatomical repair for Kommerell diverticulum with deep site in-situ fenestration

open access: yes, 2018
An 83-year-old woman with a Kommerell diverticulum was treated by anatomical endovascular repair with a deep site in-situ fenestration instead of complex debranching techniques.

A retrospective study of endovascular repair of aortic dissection with aberrant right subclavian artery

open access: yesVascular Investigation and Therapy, 2023
OBJECTIVES: Aortic dissection with aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA) is rare but fatal, with its optimal treatment remaining controversial. In this retrospective study, we presented the outcome of endovascular repair for these patients, aiming to ...
