Frequency content analysis of the probable earthquake in Kopet Dagh region—Northeast of Iran
Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2014This paper aims to describe a probabilistic frequency analysis procedure to develop seismic hazard maps of Kopet Dagh region in north and northeast of Iran which with mostly shallow earthquakes is a high active seismic area. The existence of Khangiran super gas reservoir increases the importance of this region.

Source and diagenesis of Middle Jurassic marine mudstones, Kopet-Dagh Basin, NE Iran
2015Middle Jurassic fluvio-deltaic and turbiditic mudstones of the Kashafrud Formation, are important hydrocarbon sources in the gas-rich Kopet-Dagh Basin, northeast Iran. Clay mineral assemblages are important for interpretation of sediment provenance and for understanding burial diagenetic cementation in sandstones.

Geochemistry of soils derived from selected sedimentary parent rocks in Kopet Dagh, North East Iran
Journal of Geochemical Exploration, 2018Abstract Geochemical composition of soils from arid regions is greatly affected by parent materials. In order to investigate the effects of parent materials and pedogenic processes on elemental distribution in some selected soils formed on sedimentary parent rocks in Kopet Dagh area, six representative pedons were characterized by geochemical ...

A Cenomanian-Turonian drowning unconformity on the eastern part of Kopet-Dagh basin, NE Iran
Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2015A Cenomanian-Turonian interval in the Mozduran pass section, eastern part of Kopet-Dagh basin (NE of Iran), was measured and studied in order to interpret the biostratigraphy and paleoecology (based on distribution of planktonic foraminifera). This section consists of 52.5-m light and gray marl and coincides with the Aitamir and Abderaz formation ...

Abstract In the Kopet-Dagh Mountains (the northernmost part of the Alpine fold belt east of the Caspian Sea), about 600 oriented samples from 21 sites were taken from the Middle Cretaceous through Oligocene sedimentary series. Prefolding and most probably primary remanence were isolated in Middle Cretaceous terrigenous rocks and Upper Cretaceous ...
