The ammonite family Parahoplitidae in the Sanganeh Formation of the Kopet Dagh Basin, north-eastern Iran

Cretaceous Research, 2006
Abstract The Iranian part of the Kopet Dagh Basin is located in north-eastern Iran, where sedimentation was continuous throughout Jurassic to Tertiary times. The ammonite content of the Sanganeh Formation (Lower Cretaceous) has been studied. The following parahoplitid forms have been recorded: Acanthohoplites cf. aschiltaensis , A.

Upper Maastrichtian depositional environments and sea-level history of the Kopet-Dagh Intracontinental Basin, Kalat Formation, NE Iran

Facies, 2006
The Kopet-Dagh Basin is located in northeastern Iran and southern Turkmenistan. The Late Maastrichtian Kalat Formation caps the Cretaceous interval in this Basin. Based on eight measured stratigraphic sections, the depositional environments and the sea-level history of the Kalat Formation have been interpreted.

Porosity evolution and diagenetic history of the upper Jurassic Mozduran Formation eastern Kopet-Dagh Basin NE Iran

2019
The Upper Jurassic carbonates of the eastern part of the Kopet-Dagh Basin, with thickness of 470 m, are the major gas-bearing reservoir in NE Iran. The objectives of this study are recognition of diagenetic history and estimation of porosity related to dolomitization.

Early Cretaceous Neotrocholina Reichel, 1956 from the Tirgan Formation, Kopet Dagh sedimentary basin, NE Iran: systematic and biometric interpretation

Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2017
Neotrocholina Reichel, 1956 is one of the most important benthic foraminifera in Early Cretaceous. Some of the species of this genus are indexes in biostratigraphy especially for this interval (e.g., Neotrocholina friburgensis: Late Barremian–Early Aptian; Neotrocholina aptiensis: Early Aptian).

Sequence stratigraphy and sea level history of the upper Paleocene strata in the Kopet-Dagh basin, northeastern Iran

AAPG Bulletin, 2001
The intracontinental Kopet-Dagh basin formed after the Middle Triassic orogeny in northeastern Iran and southwestern Turkmenistan. This underexplored basin could provide significant petroleum reserves in the 21st century. The upper Paleocene Chehel-Kaman Formation is exposed along northwest-southeast-trending folds and is composed of carbonate strata ...
