Climate Change Sensitivity and Regional Differences of the Upper Limit of Montane Deciduous Broad‐Leaved Forests Across the Northern Hemisphere

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
We developed a cloud model–based framework integrating multisource remote sensing data to quantify the climate change sensitivity of the upper limit of montane deciduous broad‐leaved forests (ULMDBs) across the Northern Hemisphere. Results reveal strong regional differences, with temperature dominating ULMDB sensitivity in humid regions and ...

Age Structure, Sexual Dimorphism, and Ontogenetic Melanism in a Captive Population of the Endangered Freshwater Turtle Mauremys reevesii (Gray 1831)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Effectively illustrates the sexual size dimorphism in males and females of endangered Mauremys reevesii. ABSTRACT The age structure of animal populations plays a pivotal role in understanding their demographic dynamics and reproductive potential. Although carapace growth ring analysis is widely used to estimate turtle ages, environmental variability ...

Spatial Distribution of Topmouth Gudgeonis Pseudorasbora parva Under Climate Change by Ensemble Models

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study predicted the distribution of Pseudorasbora parva, covering the ensemble model, global scale, and climate change. The overall trend shows that the potential suitable areas of P. parva will further expand, with high‐latitude or high‐altitude regions becoming more conducive to its survival.

Modeling Korean Unification [PDF]

open access: yes
For North Korea, product market integration would generate large welfare gains, sufficient to end the famine. Additional gains could be had through military demobilization. For the South, the impact of product market integration would be trivial, but the

Phylogenetic and Population Genetic Analysis Decipher the Taxonomic Consistency on Cryptic Betula costata Trautv. (Betulaceae) Populations in Japan and the Process on Its Divergence and Isolation

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, Volume 41, Issue 3, May 2026.
Betula costata, a deciduous broad‐leaved tree habits in the cool‐cold temperate forests in East Asia, is an ideal species for studying the persistence of relict plants. Although cryptic populations of this species have been reported in central Japan in recent years, species delineation of them using molecular evidence has not been undertaken.
