A First Record of the Genus Eusynstyela (Ascidiacea: Stolidobranchia: Styelidae) from Korea

open access: yesAnimal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, 2014
Colonial ascidian, Eusynstyela monotestis (Tokioka, 1953), is newly reported from Korean waters. The specimens of E. monotestis examined in this study were collected at subtidal zone of Beomseom, Munseom, Seopseom and Chagwido in Jeju-do by SCUBA diving.

First Record of Aliaporcellana and Lissoporcellana (Crustacea: Decapoda: Porcellanidae) from Korea

open access: yesAnimal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, 2015
Two porcelain crab species, Aliaporcellana pygmaea (De Man, 1902) and Lissoporcellana nakasonei (Miyake, 1978), are reported here for the first time from Korean waters based on specimens collected from Jeju Island, Korea.

Ontogenetic comparison of larvae and juveniles of Diaphus garmani and Benthosema pterotum (Myctophidae, Pisces) collected from Korea

open access: yesFisheries and Aquatic Sciences, 2020
During June 2017, we collected two postflexion larvae (6.01 and 7.56 mm in standard length [SL]) and two juveniles (7.72 and 9.62 mm SL) belonging to Myctophidae in the waters of Jejudo Island.

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...

Bias‐Free Highly Efficient and Stable Dye‐Sensitized Photoelectrochemical Cells via Cascade Charge Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A buried‐junction DSPEC design is introduced that leverages cascade charge transfer to enhance efficiency, stability, and versatility. This approach facilitates effective charge transfer and minimizes recombination losses, leading to significant improvements.

New Records of Four Doridoidean Nudibranchs from Korea [PDF]

open access: yesAnimal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, 2013
Specimens of nudibranchs have been surveyed by scuba diving from 9 localities along the Korean coast. By examination of morphological characteristics, four species in the superfamily Doridoidea which are new to Korea were identified, and re-described ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

First Report of Mud Shrimp Austinogebia wuhsienweni (Crustacea: Decapoda: Upogebiidae) from Korean Waters

open access: yesAnimal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, 2014
Specimens of Austinogebia wuhsienweni (Yu, 1931) previously recorded from China to Japan were collected at a manila clam farm of 0.5 m depth in Hongseong, Yellow Sea.

Morphology and phylogeny of a new polychaete, Prionospio expansa (Annelida: Spionidae) from the intertidal zone of the Yellow Sea, Korea

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Taxonomy, 2023
A new spionid polychaete, Prionospio expansa sp. nov., collected from the intertidal habitat of the Yellow Sea in Korea, is described. The new species is closely related to P. japonica Okuda, 1935 from Northeast Asia both morphologically and genetically.

Implementation of Drug‐Induced Rhabdomyolysis and Acute Kidney Injury in Microphysiological System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A modular Muscle–Kidney proximal tubule‐on‐a‐chip integrates 3D skeletal muscle and renal proximal tubule tissues to model drug‐induced rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury. The coculture system enables dynamic tissue interaction, functional contraction monitoring, and quantification of nephrotoxicity, revealing drug side effect‐induced metabolic ...
