Arpeggio fest in Frauenhand

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 54, Issue 6, Page 302-304, November 2023., 2023

3D‐Printed Anisotropic Nanofiber Composites with Gradual Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 8, Issue 10, May 25, 2023., 2023
The development of 3D‐printed nanofiber biocomposites with mechanical, structural, and swelling anisotropy is demonstrated. The hydrophilic and ionically crosslinked nanocellulose‐based composites exhibit outstanding properties such as high shape fidelity, wet strength, stability, and resistance to pressure, temperature, and biological fluids.

Das singende Rohr

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 54, Issue 3, Page 132-133, May 2023., 2023

High‐Order Fiber Bragg Grating Corrosion Sensor Based on the Detection of a Local Surface Expansion

open access: yesStructural Control and Health Monitoring, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
This paper presents a fiber optic sensor for the detection of corrosion processes that occur on metal surfaces. In the proposed sensor design, a sensing fiber with an inscribed high‐order Bragg grating is attached to the observed metal surface. A broadening of high‐order Bragg grating spectral characteristics is observed and used to detect small and ...

Produktives Klangchaos

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 140-141, May 2022., 2022

Photonic Bandgap in Achiral Liquid Crystals—A Twist on a Twist

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 33, Issue 39, October 1, 2021., 2021
The photonic bandgap phenomenon is observed in a liquid crystalline phase built of achiral molecules, in which a tendency to twist is caused by steric interactions between strongly bent molecules. A selective reflection of visible light appears due to unwinding of the helical structure at the transition between two smectic phases having a single‐ and ...

Das hölzerne Gelächter

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 52, Issue 3, Page 138-139, May 2021., 2021

Phylogenetic relationships and sectional delineation within Gentiana (Gentianaceae)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 69, Issue 6, Page 1221-1238, December 2020., 2020
Abstract Gentiana is a sub‐cosmopolitan temperate genus among the most species‐rich in Gentianaceae. Although molecular data (produced via Sanger sequencing) allowed the resolution of phylogenetic relationships between Gentiana and other genera in subtribe Gentianinae, the validity of sections within the genus remains largely untested.
