Analysis of the Binding of Cytokines to Highly Charged Polymer Networks

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, Volume 23, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
A model describing the binding of biological signaling proteins to highly charged polymer networks is presented. The model is compared to experimental data obtained on a set of biohybrid polymer networks composed of crosslinked glycosaminoglycan chains that interact with signaling proteins.

HINT1 neuropathy: Expanding the genotype and phenotype spectrum

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 102, Issue 5, Page 379-390, November 2022., 2022
Abstract Inherited peripheral neuropathy (IPN) is a heterogeneous group of disorders due to pathogenic variation in more than 100 genes. In 2012, the first cases of IPN associated with HINT1 pathogenic variations were described in 33 families sharing the same phenotype characterized by an axonal neuropathy with neuromyotonia and autosomal recessive ...

Salt Partitioning in Cationic Thermoresponsive Hydrogels for Model‐Seawater Desalination

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 223, Issue 17, September 2022., 2022
In this work, salt partitioning by model thermoresponsive, cationic hydrogels in model seawaters with different concentrations is experimentally and theoretically investigated. The equations derived based on the Donnan theory predict the overall trend of the salt rejection as a function of the hydrogel and experiment parameters well. The results show a
