Clinical, manometric, genetic, and histologic associations in pediatric intestinal pseudo‐obstruction: A case series

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 660-671, March 2026.
Abstract Objectives Pediatric intestinal pseudo‐obstruction (PIPO) is a severe bowel motility disorder characterized by impaired propulsion of gastrointestinal contents without mechanical obstruction. PIPO encompasses congenital and acquired disorders, including neuropathies, myopathies, and mesenchymopathies.

Band‐Selective IR PRESS for Brain Tumor Spectroscopy Allows Robust Detection of Lactate

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 3, March 2026.
Lactate quantification by MRS is hindered by lipid signal overlap at 1.3 ppm, frequently forcing the use of long echo times that suppress other metabolites. We developed SPIR‐PRESS, a selective inversion recovery technique that suppresses lipids while preserving metabolite sensitivity.

Economic incentives contribute little to reducing agricultural damage from invasive non‐native species: evidence from raccoon management in Hokkaido, Japan

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 2588-2594, March 2026.
This study reveals the nonsignificant effects of economic incentives reducing crop damage by raccoons. Our results also show that while these incentives increase the number of captured raccoons, the additional captures fail to result in measurable reductions in agricultural damage. Abstract BACKGROUND An economic incentive scheme is utilized to enhance

Pleural Metastases From Acral Lentiginous Melanoma Diagnosed by Medical Thoracoscopy

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
We present a rare case of metastatic acral lentiginous melanoma involving the pleural space, in which definitive diagnosis was established by medical thoracoscopy, highlighting its value in evaluating atypical pleural metastases. ABSTRACT Acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) with pleural metastases is rare and under‐recognised.

Dynamic Borrowing With a Bias‐Tolerance Cap in Augmented Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 6-7, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Although randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are the gold standard for evaluating the efficacy and safety of treatments, they are challenged by cost, duration, enrollment, or ethical concerns. A possible solution is to incorporate external control data as a hybrid control group, for which various statistical methods are available.

Real‐Time Detection of Crossing‐Gate Rod Breakage: Sequential Classification and Alerting Based on One‐Class SVM in a Railway Telemeter System

open access: yesArtificial Intelligence for Engineering, Volume 2, Issue 1, Page 78-89, March 2026.
This study presents a real‐time anomaly detection method for railway crossing‐gate rod breakage using one‐class SVM. The proposed sequential framework monitors classification score transitions and issues alerts based on a dynamic threshold, enabling unsupervised, field‐deployable failure detection without relying on labelled fault data.

Assessing Age‐Specific Variability in Microplastic Intake Through Seafood Consumption: A Case Study in Central Java, Indonesia

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Microplastics (MPs) are frequently detected in seafood. However, the extent to which seafood consumption contributes to MP intake remains uncertain. Previous studies on MP intake in humans did not consider interindividual variability in exposure.

Effects of Autophagy Inhibition by SAR405, a Selective VPS34 Inhibitor, on Pleural Mesothelioma Cells

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 5, March 2026.
SAR405, a selective VPS34 inhibitor, suppressed autophagic flux and reduced cell viability, colony formation, and invasion in pleural mesothelioma cell lines. SAR405 induced apoptosis only in H2452 cells. Cisplatin weakly induced autophagy, but its combination with SAR405 showed no synergistic cytotoxic effects. ABSTRACT Background Pleural mesothelioma
