Tonsillar transcriptional profiles in atopic and non-atopic subjects. [PDF]

open access: yesAllergy, 2023
Allergic sensitization, especially to aeroallergens, is extensively associated with tonsillar transcriptomics. Aeroallergen sensitized subjects were characterized by increased expression of cytokines, such as IL‐17, and chemokines.Abbreviations: CXCL, C‐X‐C motif ligand; DEG, differentially regulated genes; IL, interleukin; KEGG, Kyoto Encyclopedia of ...

Effects of reducing sedentary behavior on cardiorespiratory fitness in adults with metabolic syndrome: A 6‐month RCT

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 33, Issue 8, Page 1452-1461, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Introduction Poor cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is associated with adverse health outcomes. Previous observational and cross‐sectional studies have suggested that reducing sedentary behavior (SB) might improve CRF. Therefore, we investigated the effects of a 6‐month intervention of reducing SB on CRF in 64 sedentary inactive adults with ...

Lower abdominal adipose tissue cannabinoid type 1 receptor availability in young men with overweight

open access: yesObesity, Volume 31, Issue 7, Page 1844-1858, July 2023., 2023
Abstract Objective Cannabinoid type 1 receptors (CB1R) modulate feeding behavior and energy homeostasis, and the CB1R tone is dysgulated in obesity. This study aimed to investigate CB1R availability in peripheral tissue and brain in young men with overweight versus lean men.
