Do Teachers' Labour Contracts Matter?

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Volume 88, Issue 2, Page 331-342, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Previous literature on the effects of tenured and tenure‐track versus non‐tenure‐track professors on student performance at the university level finds mixed results. Our paper is the first to investigate whether student performance at school differs depending on whether tenured/tenure‐track or non‐tenure‐track teachers teach them.

Ozonolysis of Lignin: From Extensive Degradation to Selective Ring-Opening Oxidation. [PDF]

open access: yesChemSusChem
Despite its potential as a renewable feedstock, lignin, a major component of plant cell walls and a by‐product of the pulp and paper industry, has long been underutilized. Historically, pulp mills employed ozonolysis, a powerful oxidative process, to delignify cellulosic fibers and break down lignin.

Preparation of High‐Pressure Laminate With Bio‐Based Fructose‐HMF‐Amine Impregnation Resin

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 11, March 15, 2026.
This study demonstrates the use of a resin made from renewable carbohydrates, free from phenol and formaldehyde, for impregnating recycled kraft paper to produce high‐pressure laminates. The resulting bio‐based laminate samples match the mechanical performance of conventional phenol‐formaldehyde‐based samples, highlighting their potential to replace ...

Mechanical Performance Under Compressive Load of Carboxylated Nitrile Rubber and Kraft Lignin Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 5, Page 3983-3993, 10 March 2026.
Lignin dispersion in carboxylated nitrile rubber (XNBR) is enhanced at 7% carboxylic acid, significantly improving the composite's compressive mechanical performance for sealing applications. ABSTRACT Lignin is a promising biobased material that enhances the sustainability of rubber composites as a reinforcing filler.
