Programmable Solid‐Electrolyte Interfaces for Efficient and Selective Electrochemical Hydrogenations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 29, 13 July 2026.
Poly(ionic liquid) binders are shown to actively control the electrode microenvironment, strongly enhancing electrochemical hydrogenation compared to traditional binders. The work redefines the binder as an active component of catalytic electrode design, reshaping local potential gradients and interfacial ion distribution to modulate adsorbed H ...

Changes in Aperiodic (1/f Slope) Activity During a Picture‐Word Interference Task: Effects of Congruency and Sequence Manipulations

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 63, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aperiodic neural activity (1/f EEG) has been proposed to reflect the balance between excitatory and inhibitory (E/I) inputs, with steeper spectral slopes reflecting increased inhibition and flatter slopes indicating excitation. This activity is also thought to reflect the temporal coordination of neural firing, offering insights into ...

Affective Alignment and Youth Participation: Positive Emotional Orientations toward Spain's 15M Movement

open access: yesSociological Inquiry, Volume 96, Issue 3, August 2026.
This paper examines the relationship between movement‐directed affective orientations and youth participation in Spain's 15M Movement. Drawing on the sociology of emotions and social movement research, the study approaches 15M as a case in which protest participation was associated with a distinctive configuration of positive affective alignment toward

On the Planarity of Heterocyclic Bay‐Substituted Perylenediimides: Insight into the Fluorescent Photoinduced Electron Transfer Sensing Framework

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 26, 13 July 2026.
Near‐infrared fluorescent pH indicators based on perylenediimide were constructed in a modular receptor–spacer–fluorophore–spacer–receptor format with heterocyclic amino moieties at the bay positions. Counterintuitively, the dibrominated intermediate with two heavy atoms is more emissive than the heterocyclic compounds.
