Spectroscopic study of the magnetic ground state of Nb$_{1-y}$Fe$_{2+y}$ [PDF]
We have investigated single crystals and polycrystals from the series Nb$_{1-y}$Fe$_{2+y}$, $-0.004 \leq y \leq 0.018$ by electron spin resonance, muon spin relaxation and M\"ossbauer spectroscopy. Our data establish that at lowest temperatures all samples exhibit bulk magnetic order.

To achieve the UN's goal of protecting 30% of oceans by 2030, effective management and detailed seafloor mapping are essential, especially in the mesophotic zone. We present a new workflow combining high‐resolution synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) and bathymetry surveys for efficient habitat characterization. In 6 h, we mapped ~5 km2 of a mesophotic reef,

Practical compilation of fexprs using partial evaluation: Fexprs can performantly replace macros in purely-functional Lisp [PDF]
Macros are a common part of Lisp languages, and one of their most lauded features. Much research has gone into making macros both safer and more powerful resulting in developments in multiple areas, including maintaining hygiene, and typed program staging. However, macros do suffer from various downsides, including being second-class.

Release of the Kraken: A Novel Money Multiplier Equation's Debut in 21st Century Banking [PDF]
Historically, the banking multiplier has been in a range of 4 to 100, with 25% to 1% reserve ratios at most layers of the banking system encompassing the majority of its range in recent centuries. Here it is shown that multipliers over 1 000 can occur from a new mechanism in banking.

Is the endophyte‐based plant protection against aphids mediated by changes in the insect microbiome?
We showed that the fungal endophyte Epichloë strain AR37 increased the plant resistance against aphids via the production of indole diterpene alkaloids. The reduction in aphid performance was not associated with changes in abundance/composition/diversity of the insect's bacterial microbiota, but additional endophyte effects on this microbiota cannot be

ColibriUAV: An Ultra-Fast, Energy-Efficient Neuromorphic Edge Processing UAV-Platform with Event-Based and Frame-Based Cameras [PDF]
The interest in dynamic vision sensor (DVS)-powered unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is raising, especially due to the microsecond-level reaction time of the bio-inspired event sensor, which increases robustness and reduces latency of the perception tasks compared to a RGB camera.

Introduction Silent corticotroph adenomas (SCA) are an unusual and rare variant of non- functioning pituitary adenomas (NFA) that do not produce biochemical hypercortisolism or clinical Cushing's disease (CD), yet stain strongly for ACTH on ...

Improving Whole Biodiversity Monitoring and Discovery With Environmental DNA Metagenomics
ABSTRACT Environmental DNA (eDNA) metagenomics sequences all DNA molecules present in environmental samples and has the potential of identifying virtually any organism from which they are derived. However, due to unacceptable levels of false positives and negatives, this approach is underexplored as a tool for biodiversity monitoring across the tree of
