The taxonomic position of C3 and C4 Alloteropsis semialata (Poaceae) in southern Africa

open access: yesBothalia: African Biodiversity & Conservation, 1983
Alloteropsis semialata (R. Br.) Hitchc. sensu Chippindall (1955) and Clayton (in press) is the only known grass species in which elements with both non-Kranz and Kranz leaf blade anatomy, and therefore with C3 and C4 photosynthetic pathways are included.

From proto-Kranz to C4 Kranz: building the bridge to C4 photosynthesis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Botany, 2014
In this review, we examine how the specialized "Kranz" anatomy of C4 photosynthesis evolved from C3 ancestors. Kranz anatomy refers to the wreath-like structural traits that compartmentalize the biochemistry of C4 photosynthesis and enables the concentration of CO2 around Rubisco.

Symmetry operators of Kranz products

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1971
AbstractIn this paper we consider the linear algebraic analogs of certain classes of combinatorial identities connected with the problem of enumeration under group actions. The relationship between symmetry operators of Kranz products with abelian characters and their underlying subgroups is explored. Some applications to combinatorics are discussed.

An Overview About Ultrastructure of Kranz Anatomy in Cyperaceae (Poales)

open access: yesRodriguésia
An overview about ultrastructure of Kranz anatomy in Cyperaceae (Poales) - The ultrastructure of the Kranz tissues in Cyperaceae species with the four types of Kranz anatomy (chlorocyperoid, eleocharoid, fimbristyloid and rhynchosporoid) was studied and ...

Anatomical variations in scapes of Eleocharis minima Kunth (Cyperaceae, Poales) - amphibian and Kranz species

open access: yesRodriguésia
In Cyperaceae about 1/3 of the species have Kranz anatomy and some species of Eleocharis can either present Kranzanatomy or not according to the environmental conditions, whether terrestrial (emerged) or aquatic (partly or fully submerged).
