Renal pericytes: regulators of medullary blood flow [PDF]
Regulation of medullary blood flow (MBF) is essential in maintaining normal kidney function. Blood flow to the medulla is supplied by the descending vasa recta (DVR), which arise from the efferent arterioles of juxtamedullary glomeruli.

On the definition and K-theory realization of a modular functor
We present a definition of a (super)-modular functor which includes certain interesting cases that previous definitions do not allow. We also introduce a notion of topological twisting of a modular functor, and construct formally a realization by a 2 ...

Putting theory oriented evaluation into practice [PDF]
Evaluations of gaming simulations and business games as teaching devices are typically end-state driven. This emphasis fails to detect how the simulation being evaluated does or does not bring about its desired consequences.

CD8 T Cell Sensing of Type I Interferon Impacts Anergy
Basal IFN‐I acts as a rheostat to fine‐tune CD8 T cell anergy. The presence of IFN‐I induces a less deep anergic state characterised by greater expansion, residual effector function and plasticity. This favours the accumulation of autoreactive T cells that retain the potential to break tolerance rather than undergoing deletion.

A mathematical formalism for the Kondo effect in WZW branes
In this paper, we show how to adapt our rigorous mathematical formalism for closed/open conformal field theory so that it captures the known physical theory of branes in the WZW model.

How Are Children Involved? Participation of Children in the Process of Matching With Foster Families
ABSTRACT Children have the right to be informed and to express their views on all matters affecting them. When children are placed in foster care, social services are responsible for ensuring that the child receives ‘good care’. This requires a matching process. Matching means that children and foster families must ‘fit together’.

Puzzles of Interpersonal Listening: Conflicting Findings, Theories, and Future Research
ABSTRACT Listening is widely recognized as essential to human interaction, yet research on it remains conceptually fragmented and theoretically inconsistent. Although extensive evidence shows that good listening benefits emotional, cognitive, motivational, and relational outcomes, the field lacks consensus about what listening is, how it should be ...
