Matrices arising from 2D and 3D problems sometimes have a Kronecker product structure. Identifying a Kronecker structure can be very rewarding since it simplifies the derivation of properties of such matrices.

Inverse of sum of Kronecker products as a sum of Kronecker products
GPS Solutions, 2018In the context of processing global navigation satellite system (GNSS) data by least squares adjustment, one may encounter a mathematical problem when inverting a sum of two Kronecker products. As a solution of this problem, we propose to invert this sum in the form of another sum of two Kronecker products.

Lax Representation and Kronecker Product
Physica Scripta, 2003Summary: Assume that a system of ordinary differential equations can be written in the Lax representation. We show that the Kronecker product can be used to construct new Lax representations. The time-evolution is also given.
