Recent Advances in the Stereoselective Polymerization of Epoxides and Applications of Stereocontrolled Polyethers

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the current state of stereoselective epoxide polymerization, focusing especially on the past 10 years. Polymerization mechanisms, catalyst design strategies (both organometallic and metal‐free), and applications of stereocontrolled polyethers are discussed, including their use as thermoplastic materials or regarding interfaces ...

Cyanostyryl‐Guanidiniocarbonyl‐Pyrrole Amphiphiles: From Aggregation‐Induced Emission to Photodimerization, Self‐Assembly, and Bioimaging

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Amphiphiles with AIE properties, built on a novel luminophore containing an oxo‐anion binding motif, were synthesized and studied for self‐assembly in water. Carboxylate binding was verified by static quenching of a bound pyrene probe, and morphologies were analyzed by TEM, DLS, and ζ‐potential.

Nature‐Inspired Uv Filters: Synthetic Mycosporine‐Like Amino Acids and Gadusol Analogs for Enhanced Photoprotective and Antioxidant Performance

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
Photoprotection is a current and relevant topic; therefore, the development of new sunscreens is necessary. To this end, nature is examined for molecules such as mycosporine‐like amino acids and gadusol. Through rational design, this study has successfully synthesized new UV filters and evaluated their photoprotective and antioxidant properties ...

Multistimuli‐Responsive Chromic Properties of Soft Salts Based on Cyclometalated Platinum(II) Complexes: Pyridine‐ vs. Pyrimidine‐Based Ligands

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
This study on the multistimuli‐responsive chromic properties of soft salts based on cyclometalated platinum(II) complexes highlights the crucial role played by the pyrimidine‐based ligands, present in both the cationic and anionic complexes, in activating this responsive behavior.
