Fluorescent and Chemiluminescent Dyes with Aryl Phthalimide and Aryl Luminol Chromophores

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
A series of photo‐active phthalimides and luminols is prepared by an arylation method from a key precursor. Significant stereoelectronic correlation of the aromatic substituents with the photophysical properties is documented. A new arylated luminol derivative shows a more than three times higher ΦCL than the parent luminol.

How to Produce Green Hydrogen from Olivine and Seawater? By Ultrasound

open access: yesChemSusChem, Accepted Article.
Green hydrogen is a pillar for achieving global decarbonization and reducing of greenhouse gas emissions. Here, we report on a new, nature‐inspired process for green hydrogen production using virtually unlimited natural resources. Olivine, the most abundant mineral in the Earth’s upper mantle, is key to this process.

Improving the economics of sustainable aviation fuels: system‐level analyses and perspective

open access: yesChemSusChem, Accepted Article.
The transportation sector becomes more electrified in accordance with the energy transition to renewable energy. However, aviation is challenging to decarbonize due to low energy density of batteries. Specifically, it is difficult to store large‐scale batteries in aircraft because there are stringent limitations in weight and space.

On the Density–Density Correlations of the Non‐Interacting Finite Temperature Electron Gas

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The density–density correlations of the non‐interacting finite temperature electron gas are discussed in detail. Starting from the ideal linear density response function and utilizing general relations from linear response theory, known and novel expressions are derived for the pair correlation function, static structure factor, dynamic ...

Modelling Thomson Scattering in a Hydrogen Plasma at Stellar Interior Conditions Using the Hypernetted‐Chain Approach

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Under the extreme conditions found in small stars, where electron degeneracy and Coulomb coupling are significant, accurate modeling of Thomson scattering is crucial for determining opacity, a primary quantity for stellar energy transport.
