Enhancement in Mercury–Krypton and Xenon–Krypton Gaseous Discharges
Applied Optics, 1963Spectroscopic examination of electrodeless gaseous discharges in krypton containing small amounts of xenon or mercury shows a directed transfer of energy by collisions of the second kind from the krypton 1s5 metastable atoms to the 2s levels in Xe and the 91P1 state in Hg.

Abstract Krypton is the only noble gas other than xenon to give rise to isolable compounds in macroscopic amounts, although the chemistry of krypton is presently limited to the +2 oxidation state. The strong oxidant-fluorinator properties and thermal instabilities of krypton(II) compounds have posed considerable challenges to determining the extent ...

Atomic Weight of Krypton [PDF]
WHILE measuring the dielectric coefficient of a particularly pure sample of krypton, it occurred to me that a density determination would be of interest in view of Aston's recent statement that the accepted value of the atomic weight appeared from his measurements on the relative quantities of the isotopes to be much too low.

Liquid xenon (Xe) is one of the commendable detecting media for the dark matter detections. However, the small content of radioactive krypton-85 ((85)Kr) always exists in the commercial xenon products. An efficient cryogenic distillation system to remove

Nanoporous metal formates for krypton/xenon separation.
Chemical Communications, 2013Metal(II) formates (Co and Ni) show a significantly larger heat of adsorption for xenon than krypton across all loadings due to size selectivity in the primary adsorption site.

A new krypton-containing compound, HKrF, has been prepared in a low-temperature Kr matrix via VUV photolysis of the HF precursor and posterior thermal mobilization of H and F atoms. All three fundamental vibrations have been observed in the FTIR spectra at ∼1950 cm−1 (H–Kr stretch), ∼650 cm−1 (bending), and ∼415 cm−1 (Kr–F stretch).

Characteristies of Krypton Counters
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1960Solutions of dyes in CCl/sub 4/ are suitable for gamma dosimetry above 200 kev with a precision of 10 to 20%. The indicator is independent of temperatures from 20 to 60 deg C and doses of 0.6 to 200 r/min. The solutions are very stable thermally, but are sensitive to the effects of light. (tr-auth)
