Beton ringan adalah beton beratnya kurang dari 1840 kg/m³. Beton ringan cenderung memiliki kuat tarik yang rendah, dan karena karakteristik agregat ringan yang digunakan, maka dalam perencanaan campuran beton ditambahkan serat untuk meningkatkan kuat tarik dari beton ringan itu sendiri.
