Detection of QTLs for cold tolerance of rice cultivar ‘Kuchum’ and effect of QTL pyramiding

A QTL for cold tolerance at the booting stage of rice cultivar 'Kuchum' was detected and delimited into a 1.36 Mb region, and a cold-tolerant line was developed by QTL pyramiding. Low temperature in summer causes pollen sterility in rice, resulting in a serious loss of yield.

Kuchum Khan, a descendant of the Shaybanids, put an end to the rule of Taibugids in the Sibir Khanate in 1563. Kuchum Khan, who had focused more on the internal affairs of the state because he shared the first years of his rule with his brother, started to deal with the foreign affairs of the state on the death of his brother.

Descendants of Kuchum under Russian Rule and Efforts to Revive the Siberian Khanate in the 17th Century

At the end of the 16th century, after the Russian invasion and the de facto dissolution of the Siberian Khanate, two different outcomes emerged in Western Siberia. Some travelled to Moscow and entered the service of the Russian court, while others stayed in the old lands of the khanate and started to resist the Russian occupation.
