Groundwater in the Issyk Kul Basin

The groundwater system of the Issyk Kul basin is limited by the divides of Terskei Ridge in the south, Kungei Ridge in the north, Santash pass in the east, and Karatash sill in the west. A plane interface within the Terskei and Kungei Ridges is marked by a groundwater-filled highly permeable fractured zone in Paleozoic bedrock.
