European Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 26, July 12, 2025.Renewable‐based furanics derived from 5‐HMF are used to synthesize cyclic organic carbonates (COCs) via CO2 insertion into epoxides. The BHTHF/NaBr complexing system shows high activity, achieving 94–99% epoxide conversion and 70–99% COC selectivity under mild conditions.
