Notes on certain inequalities by Hölder, Lewent and Ky Fan [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Inequalities, 2007
The aim of this paper is twofold. First we show that the famous H\"older inequality (which one, according to [10] should be called as the Rogers inequality)was discovered by Grolous [5] and Besso [3] about 10 years before Rogers. On the other hand, a result obtained by Lewent [9] leads to a new proof of the famous Ky Fan inequality [2]. Related results

Levinsonova nejednakost [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
U ovom radu bavimo se Levinsonovom nejednakošću i njenim generalizacijama. Rad se sastoji od pet poglavlja. U Poglavlju 1 opisan je život američkog matematičara Normana Levinsona i njegovi najveći doprinosi te navodimo kako je Levinson dobio ...

Applications of generalized Ky Fan's matching theorem in minimax and variational inequality [PDF]

open access: yes
We present some application of the generalized Ky Fan's Matching Theorem stated by Chebbi, Gourdel and Hammami in minimax and variational inequalities using a generalized coercivity type condition for correspondences defined in L-space.L-structures, L ...

Urban Form and Environmental Characteristics as Drivers of Air Pollution Exposure Variability and Inequality in Fujian Province, China

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Air pollution, particularly fine particulate matter, poses significant health and environmental risks, with exposure levels exhibiting considerable spatial inequality. However, few studies have comprehensively examined how urban form and environmental factors influence air pollution exposure and its spatial inequality.

Scaling Cultured Meat: Challenges and Solutions for Affordable Mass Production

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 24, Issue 4, July 2025.
ABSTRACT As the global population grows and meat consumption increases, the demand for sustainable and efficient food systems becomes urgent. Cultured meat (CM) has emerged as a promising alternative to conventional meat, offering potential benefits in environmental conservation, resource efficiency, and animal welfare.

Nonlinear Inequality, Fixed Point and NashEquilibrium [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we give new sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution of theg-maximum equality. As a consequence, we prove a new fixed point theorem.

Randomly pivoted Cholesky: Practical approximation of a kernel matrix with few entry evaluations

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 78, Issue 5, Page 995-1041, May 2025.
Abstract The randomly pivoted Cholesky algorithm (RPCholesky) computes a factorized rank‐k$k$ approximation of an N×N$N \times N$ positive‐semidefinite (psd) matrix. RPCholesky requires only (k+1)N$(k + 1)N$ entry evaluations and O(k2N)$\mathcal {O}(k^2 N)$ additional arithmetic operations, and it can be implemented with just a few lines of code.

Ordered Incidence geometry and the geometric foundations of convexity theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
An Ordered Incidence Geometry, that is a geometry with certain axioms of incidence and order, is proposed as a minimal setting for the fundamental convexity theorems, which usually appear in the context of a linear vector space, but require only ...
