Insect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.We surveyed 119 stands of common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) across an urbanisation gradient to investigate how restored garden habitat might ameliorate the negative effects of urbanisation on specialist herbivores. Surprisingly, we found most herbivores (including the monarch butterfly) had greater occupancy on common milkweed towards an urban centre.
