Testing the Marketing Performance of German Wheat Farmers

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper analyses the marketing performance of wheat farmers in Germany. Wheat sales data from 465 individual farms over a 12‐year period are used to test against different market benchmarks. Market benchmarks are constructed by simulating passive trading agents using regional wheat prices.

New stochastic processes to model interest rates : LIBOR additive processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, a new kind of additive process is proposed. Our main goal is to define, characterize and prove the existence of the LIBOR additive process as a new stochastic process.

Walking across Wikipedia: a scale-free network model of semantic memory retrieval. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Semantic knowledge has been investigated using both online and offline methods. One common online method is category recall, in which members of a semantic category like "animals" are retrieved in a given period of time.

Remote Language Assessment in School‐Age Children With Phelan–McDermid Syndrome and Genotype–Phenotype Correlation

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT People with Phelan–McDermid syndrome (PMS) have reduced speech and language abilities, yet little research has profiled the communication abilities in this population. The purpose of this study was threefold: identifying the language and communication profiles of school‐aged children with PMS, identifying genetic contributions to language and ...

Optimal Randomness for Stochastic Configuration Network (SCN) with Heavy-Tailed Distributions

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
Stochastic Configuration Network (SCN) has a powerful capability for regression and classification analysis. Traditionally, it is quite challenging to correctly determine an appropriate architecture for a neural network so that the trained model can ...

35 Individuals With HUWE1‐Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder and Suggested Clinical Evaluations

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT HUWE1 (HECT, UBA, and WWE Domain Containing E3 Ubiquitin Protein Ligase1, OMIM 300697), located at Xp11.22, encodes a ubiquitin ligase that is highly conserved across species. Genetic variants in HUWE1 described in multiple independent studies cause X‐linked intellectual disability, including in the patients identified by Juberg, Marsidi, and ...

Anomalous fluctuation relations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study Fluctuation Relations (FRs) for dynamics that are anomalous, in the sense that the diffusive properties strongly deviate from the ones of standard Brownian motion. We first briefly review the concept of transient work FRs for stochastic dynamics

The Legislation for Providing Animal Access in Australian Residential Aged Care: It's Not a Zoo

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Providing meaningful animal contact to residential aged care facility (RACF) residents is problematic due to a lack of animal policies and National Guidelines. This paper examines how Australian Legislation could influence access to animal contact in RACFs and aims to answer the question, ‘Could current Legislation facilitate the development ...

Comparing Multicomponent Erlang Distribution and Lévy Distribution of Particle Transverse Momentums

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2014
The transverse momentum spectrums of final-state products produced in nucleus-nucleus and proton-proton collisions at different center-of-mass energies are analyzed by using a multicomponent Erlang distribution and the Lévy distribution.
