On the fluid limit of the continuous-time random walk with general Lévy jump distribution functions. [PDF]

open access: yes
The continuous time random walk (CTRW) is a natural generalization of the Brownian random walk that allows the incorporation of waiting time distributions ψ(t) and general jump distribution functions η(x).

On the infinite divisibility of distributions of some inverse subordinators

open access: yes, 2018
We consider the infinite divisibility of distributions of some well-known inverse subordinators. Using a tail probability bound, we establish that distributions of many of the inverse subordinators used in the literature are not infinitely divisible.

Performance comparison of pressure swing adsorption and amine‐based absorption for synthesis gas purification

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Comparison of PSA and amine‐based absorption for syngas purification shows that PSA offers lower energy intensity, global warming potential, and minimum selling price, making it a more sustainable option. However, absorption achieves higher syngas purity. A GREENSCOPE‐based multi‐criteria assessment guides optimal process selection.

Some Bayes Estimators for Maxwell Distribution by Using New Loss Function

open access: yesAl-Mustansiriyah Journal of Science, 2017
In the current study, we have been derived some Bayesian estimations of the scale parameter of Maxwell distribution using the New loss function (NLF) which it called Generalized weighted loss function, assuming non-informative prior, namely, Jefferys ...

Invariant Measure and Universality of the 2D Yang–Mills Langevin Dynamic

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We prove that the Yang–Mills (YM) measure for the trivial principal bundle over the two‐dimensional torus, with any connected, compact structure group, is invariant for the associated renormalised Langevin dynamic. Our argument relies on a combination of regularity structures, lattice gauge‐fixing and Bourgain's method for invariant measures ...

Statistical description of depth-dependent turbulent velocity measured in Taihu Lake, China

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2018
Quantitative description of turbulence using simple physical/mathematical models remains a challenge in classical physics and hydrologic dynamics. This study monitored the turbulence velocity field at the surface and bottom of Taihu Lake, in China, a ...

Implicit renewal theory for exponential functionals of L\'evy processes

open access: yes, 2015
We establish a new functional relation for the probability density function of the exponential functional of a L\'evy process, which allows to significantly simplify the techniques commonly used in the study of these random variables and hence provide ...

Governance Drivers of Fossil Fuel Divestment: Evidence From Global Banks

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate change poses increasing transition risks for the banking sector, as financial institutions remain exposed to fossil fuel activities despite growing sustainability commitments. This study examines whether corporate governance influences banks' decisions to adopt fossil fuel divestment policies.

Centrality Dependent Lévy-Stable Two-Pion Bose-Einstein Correlations in \( {\sqrt{s_{NN}}} \) = 200 GeV Au+Au Collisions at the PHENIX Experiment

open access: yesUniverse, 2018
Investigation of femtoscopic correlation functions in relativistic heavy ion reactions is an important tool to access the space-time structure of particle production in the strongly interacting Quark Gluon Plasma (sQGP). The shape of the source, and thus
