Stochastic Dynamics From Maximum Entropy in Action Space
ABSTRACT We develop an information‐theoretic formulation of stochastic dynamics in which the fundamental stochastic variable is the total action connecting spacetime points, rather than individual paths. By maximizing Shannon entropy over a joint distribution of actions and endpoints, subject to normalization and a constraint on the mean action, we ...

ABSTRACT This study examines multidimensional segregation by race, income, and partisanship among Asian Americans, whose ethnic subgroups differ in migration history, socioeconomic position, and political alignment. Using voter registration records for 33 million voters in New York and California, including 2.55 million Asian American voters, we ...

Abstract Accurate characterization of aerosol optical depth (AOD) uncertainties is critical for air quality assessment, data assimilation (DA), and environmental studies. In this study, we evaluate two sets of AOD products retrieved from Suomi‐NPP VIIRS over Africa.

Abstract Multiple drillings in the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia, recently confirmed the presence of natural hydrogen (H2) in shallow sedimentary units. While radiolysis and Fe‐oxidation in the basement are potential generation mechanisms, their respective contributions remain unconstrained.

Abstract Sediment transport in rivers and channels can be understood as a diffusive phenomenon, where sediment particles separate as they move downstream. This diffusive behavior can be Fickian or anomalous (superdiffusive, subdiffusive, ballistic, etc.), depending on the time evolution of the sediment displacement variance.

We compared the diet and assessed geographic and seasonal variations in the isotopic niches of red‐footed boobies across three Indian Ocean atolls. Our results demonstrate plasticity in both diet and trophic niche, likely driven by local environmental conditions, breeding stages, and colony‐specific factors.

The Dairy Ruminant Gut Microbiome: Profile, Responsiveness to Seasonality and Impact on Milk Quality
The dairy ruminant gut microbiome that is shaped by host and diet is affected by seasonality and rearing. These factors can impact dairy productivity and milk quality potentially through the gut microbiota. ABSTRACT The gut microbiome (GM) and particularly the rumen microbiome (RM) affect the ruminant health and they are associated with milk quality ...

Peasants into Muslims: Poverty and conversions to Islam in Ottoman Bosnia
Abstract Whilst economic historians have invested substantial effort into understanding the economic consequences of religion, they have invested less effort into understanding the determinants of religious affiliation. The lack of knowledge about determinants of religious affiliation seems particularly striking in the case of Southeastern Europe ...
