A Wiener-Hopf type factorization for the exponential functional of Lévy processes

open access: yes, 2012
For a Lévy process =( t) t≥0 drifting to -∞, we define the so-called exponential functional as follows: Under mild conditions on ,we show that the following factorization of exponential functionals: holds, where × stands for the product of independent ...

Smart Cities Leading the Green Transition: Linking Open Innovation and Entrepreneurial Dynamics

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Smart cities today are vibrant spaces where technology, collaboration, and sustainability come together to shape a better future. The green transition in cities is not just about building greener infrastructure or cutting emissions. It also changes how people, institutions, and businesses think and act.

Ergodicity of Lévy-Type Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, conditions for transience, recurrence, ergodicity and strong, subexponential (polynomial) and exponential ergodicity of a class of Feller processes are derived.

Pathways to Carbon Neutrality: The Role of Environmental Governance, Environmental Technology, Renewable Energy Transition, and Economic Policy Uncertainty in Africa

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As climate change and environmental deterioration continue to escalate due to substantial CO2 emissions, nations worldwide are implementing approaches to alleviate CO2 emissions and accomplish carbon neutrality (CNE) goals. The current study examined CNE objectives for five selected nations in Africa, spanning from 1990 to 2022.

On the Liouville and strong Liouville properties for a class of non-local operators

open access: yes, 2022
We prove a necessary and sufficient condition for the Liouville and strong Liouville properties of the infinitesimal generator of a Lévy process and subordinate Lévy processes.

Discharge Remote Monitoring Systems for Glycemic Management After Hospital Discharge

open access: yesChronic Diseases and Translational Medicine, EarlyView.
Heat map of median number of telehealth interactions by subgroup and theme. Major themes identified included intervention after remote monitoring alerts (e.g., “Team reached out to participant and instructed participant to treat hypo.”), insulin dose adjustments (e.g., “Participant reported that prednisone dose is increasing … Called to discuss insulin

Markov Additive Processes for Degradation with Jumps under Dynamic Environments

open access: yes, 2021
We use general Markov additive processes (Markov modulated Lévy processes) to integrally handle the complexity of degradation including internally- and externally-induced stochastic properties with complex jump mechanisms. The background component of the

Performance comparison of pressure swing adsorption and amine‐based absorption for synthesis gas purification

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Comparison of PSA and amine‐based absorption for syngas purification shows that PSA offers lower energy intensity, global warming potential, and minimum selling price, making it a more sustainable option. However, absorption achieves higher syngas purity. A GREENSCOPE‐based multi‐criteria assessment guides optimal process selection.

Systematic Evaluation of Data and Trial Fitness for Oncology Trial Emulation: Empirical Findings from the CARE Initiative

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The Coalition to Advance Real‐World Evidence through Randomized Controlled Trial Emulation (CARE) Initiative seeks to advance understanding of when real‐world data (RWD) can generate valid treatment effectiveness estimates by emulating completed oncology randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
