Constructing Policy (In)coherence in Germany's Energy Transition and Impacts on (In)equality
ABSTRACT Policy coherence is widely regarded as essential for achieving sustainable development, climate targets, and reducing inequality, as reflected in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Recent scholarship has moved beyond technocratic approaches, drawing on comparative politics, particularly the “3 I's” of ideas, interests, and ...

Estimation of the characteristics of a Lévy process observed at arbitrary frequency [PDF]
A Lévy process is observed at time points of distance Δ until time T. We construct an estimator of the Lévy-Khinchine characteristics of the process and derive optimal rates of convergence simultaneously in T and Δ.

ABSTRACT Affective polarisation, a growing hostility toward political outgroups, is a phenomenon rooted in social identity. Social identity threat—the expectation of experiencing some form of denigration based on a self‐relevant group identity—is thought to be a major driver of affective polarisation.

A Proposal of Portfolio Choice for Infinitely Divisible Distributions of Assets Returns
In the paper we present a proposal of augmenting portfolio analysis for the infinitely divisible distributions of returns - so that the prices of assets can follow Lévy processes.

ABSTRACT Public opinion plays a central role in shaping conflict dynamics and influencing wartime policy. In this work, we examined which psychological intergroup interventions could increase public opposition to war. Building on research showing that instrumental reasoning and social identification are central, though not exhaustive, predictors of war‐

Markovianity and Time Changed Lévy Processes
The objective of the thesis is to investigate Markov structures of time changed Lévy processes. Moreover we investigate the Markov structures of stochastic differential equations driven by Brownian motion with a view towards obtaining Markov structures ...

An algorithm for seizure detection in rodents
Abstract Objective Epilepsy animal research often relies on long‐term intracranial electroencephalographic (iEEG) recordings. Here, we describe an artificial neural network (ANN) algorithm for automatic detection of seizures. Methods The algorithm was trained on iEEG recordings of three mouse models of chronic epilepsy: (1) the pilocarpine model of ...

Lévy matters V: functionals of Lévy processes
This three-chapter volume concerns the distributions of certain functionals of Lévy processes. The first chapter, by Makoto Maejima, surveys representations of the main sub-classes of infinitesimal distributions in terms of mappings of certain Lévy ...

Abstract Educational initiatives that address the gap between basic/preclinical and clinical practices are important to effectively translate basic science discoveries to benefit patients. The ILAE Neurobiology Commission conducted a pilot project aimed at exposing basic and preclinical scientists engaged in epilepsy research to general clinical issues
