Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Efficacy and Drug Resistance Selection of Injectable Long‐Acting Lenacapavir Pre‐Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Against HIV

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Oral pre‐exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can substantially reduce HIV infection risk when taken as prescribed. However, many individuals struggle adhering to the daily regimen. Twice‐yearly injections of the novel HIV capsid inhibitor lenacapavir (LEN) demonstrated potential in recent PrEP trials.

Biodegradable Carbonate Nanogels Loaded with Anti MFAP‐5 siRNA for Anti‐stromal Therapy of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 21, 13 April 2026.
Polycarbonate nanogels enable lipid‐free delivery of anti‐MFAP‐5 siRNA into cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAF) in hepatocellular carcinoma. In a cirrhotic murine model, this approach silences MFAP‐5, reduces fibroblast activation, and suppresses tumor growth by inhibiting NOTCH/Hes1‐driven angiogenesis. CAF‐targeted MFAP‐5 RNAi and conserved signaling

Distinguishing Pseudotransduction and True Transduction Enables Characterization and Bioengineering of Extracellular Vesicle‐Adeno‐Associated Virus Vectors

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Adeno‐associated virus (AAV) gene therapies have achieved some clinical success, with multiple products reaching regulatory approval. Encapsulation of AAV vectors within engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) is an emerging strategy which could help overcome challenges including pre‐existing anti‐capsid immunity and the need for controlling ...

Aquatic Bacterial Community Responses to Aquatic Contaminants Revealed by 16S rRNA Metabarcoding in Field‐Based Microcosms

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 2, April 2026.
This study used sedimentary eDNA analysis and field‐based microcosms to assess the impacts of three major aquatic contaminants on bacterial assemblage structure. Our results showed significant but varied impact depending on exposure to which contaminant; we suggest five phyla, 13 families, and three species as potential bacterial bioindicators and ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 369-388, February 2026.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.
