A Mathematical Analysis of New L-curve to Estimate the Parameters of Regularization in TSVD Method [PDF]
A new technique to find the optimization parameter in TSVD regularization method is based on a curve which is drawn against the residual norm [5]. Since the TSVD regularization is a method with discrete regularization parameter, then the above-mentioned ...

A simplified L-curve method as error estimator [PDF]
The L-curve method is a well-known heuristic method for choosing the regularization parameter for ill-posed problems by selecting it according to the maximal curvature of the L-curve. In this article, we propose a simplified version that replaces the curvature essentially by the derivative of the parameterization on the $y$-axis.

Observation Selection, Total Variation, and L-Curve Methods for LiDAR Data Denoising [PDF]
In this article, we propose a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data denoising scheme for wind profile observation as a part of quality control procedure for wind velocity monitoring and windshear detection. The proposed denoising scheme consists of several components.

Cortical potential imaging using L-curve and GCV method to choose the regularisation parameter [PDF]
The electroencephalography (EEG) is an attractive and a simple technique to measure the brain activity. It is attractive due its excellent temporal resolution and simple due to its non-invasiveness and sensor design. However, the spatial resolution of EEG is reduced due to the low conducting skull.

Detecting Periodically Expressed Genes based on Time-frequency Analysis and L-curve Method [PDF]
In microarray experiments, gene expression profiles are often affected by biological properties, such as synchronization loss, and show some non-stationarity. Worse still, the microarray data usually suffers from missing values. The conventional spectrum-based methods, when used to identify a subset of genes that are periodically expressed, are ...

Spectrum deconvolution: the indicator for the balance region and regularization parameter choice by the +S-curve method [PDF]
When solving the problem of spectrum deconvolution, i.e., the problem of eliminating the distorting influence of equipment during the registration of experimental spectrometric data, the choice of the regularization parameter (RP) in the commonly used ...
