L-moments under nuisance regression
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016The L-moments are analogues of the conventional moments and have similar interpretations. They are calculated using linear combinations of the expectation of ordered data. In practice, L-moments must usually be estimated from a random sample drawn from an unknown distribution as a linear combination of ordered statistics.

Regional Flood Frequency Analysis using L-Moments
Civil-Comp Proceedings, 2009Regional flood frequency analysis was performed using L-moments. The analysis uses annual maximum flood data observed at a desired project location or streamgaging station to estimate flood quantiles. Regional flood frequency analysis involves four stages: screening of the data, identification of homogeneous regions, choice of a regional frequency ...

Gamma Mixture: Bimodality, Inflexions and L-Moments
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2008We study some characteristics of the mixture of two gamma distributions. Specifically, we characterize regions of the parameter space where the mixture density is bimodal and/or has four inflexion points and further, we provide formulae for the L-moments of such mixtures.
