D‐Glyceraldehyde is a neurotoxic metabolite of fructose and glucose. In Alzheimer's disease brains, glyceraldehyde has been detected in beta‐amyloid plaques. D‐Glyceraldehyde levels in blood are increased in diabetes, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease development. We asked: does D‐glyceraldehyde enter the brain from the circulation?
