MPEC 2023-L20 : 2023 LA

2023
The Minor Planet Electronic Circulars contain information on unusual minor planets, routine data on comets and natural satellites, and occasional editorial announcements. They are published on behalf of Division F of the International Astronomical Union by the Minor Planet Center, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A.

Validation of an annual cycle simulation with a T42-L20 GCM

Climate Dynamics, 1991
An annual cycle of an atmospheric general circulation model (AGCM) is presented. The winter and summer zonal averages of the atmospheric fields are compared with an observed climatology. The main features of the observed seasonal means are well reproduced by the model.

L20 Olesoxime targets calpain overactivation in models of huntington’s disease

Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry, 2016
Background A long-term treatment study of BACHD rats with olesoxime, a mitochondria-targeting drug, revealed beneficial effects on specific behavioural and neuropathological phenotypes. On the molecular level, olesoxime suppressed the activation of calpains, calcium-dependent cysteine proteases which were associated with cleavage of mutant huntingtin,

Tunnel lighting : Method of calculating luminance of access zone L20

Lighting Research and Technology, 1993
To determine the luminance levels required in tunnel lighting installations a safe maximum value of the luminance of the access zone L20 has to be evaluated.

Energy of the Antiphase Area Created by Dislocation Slip in L20 Type Ordered Alloys

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1972
The energy of the antiphase area created by the slip of n dislocations in an ordered alloy of L20-type is computed whose order state is characterized by the parameters S of Bragg and Williams [2] and σ of Bethe [3]. The results are then discussed and consequences are drawn about the deformation of such an alloy. On calcule l'energie de frontiere

Globalisation, Multipolarity and the L20 as an Alternative to the G8

Global Society, 2007
The simultaneity of globalisation and the rise of powers such as China, India, Brazil and South Africa are raising fundamental questions about the aptness of the contemporary global governance architecture. A few years ago, former Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin proposed a “Leaders' 20” or “L20” as an apex body for global governance.

Physiological effects of translation initiation factor IF3 and ribosomal protein L20 limitation inEscherichia coli

Molecular Genetics and Genomics, 1996
To investigate the physiological roles of translation initiation factor IF3 and ribosomal protein L20 in Escherichia coli, the infC, rpmI and rpIT genes encoding IF3, L35 and L20, respectively, were placed under the control of lac promotor/operator sequences. Thus, their expression is dependent upon the amount of inducer isopropyl thiogalactoside (IPTG)

Geometrical consideration on grain boundary structure of L20 and L12 superlattice alloys

Acta Metallurgica, 1983
Abstract The grain boundaries in two superlattice alloys of AB L20 which is b.c.c. in disordered state and of A3B L12 which is f.c.c. in disordered state were geometrically considered. All the geometrical configurations based on the coincidence site lattice (CSL) theory were constructed without introduction of any accommodations of atoms. The defects

Pinning of antiphase boundaries at the cleaved (001) surface of an L20 ordering alloy

Surface Science, 1985
Abstract The surface energy σ of an ordering AB alloy in a bcc lattice cleaved along a (001) plane has been investigated. Segregation to the surface, say of species A,, below the critical temperature T c leads to two kinds of surface behavior according to whether the lattice ends on an A- or a B-rich sublattice layer.
